About this tour
The Pearling Path leads you through the narrow, atmospheric alleys of Bahrain's former capital to experience the golden era of the natural pearl trade, across UNESCO-protected timber and coral-stone architecture. Begin at the Pearling Path Visitor and Experience Center, continue with your guide to the Bahrain Pearling Path Museum and the restored 19th-century merchant residences, traditional cafés and Kurar (gold-thread embroidery) workshops, and conclude by the sea at Pearling Pathway Visitor Center 1 at Bu Maher Fort, where your private driver awaits at the southern waterfront. You will see the sea where the pearl divers set out on their journeys and the beautiful traditional Bahraini houses that tell extraordinary stories of Bahrain's precious pearls. The tour finishes in a traditional Bahraini restaurant, where you can indulge in the famous Bahraini breakfast (paid on site). Your driver drops you at the northern trailhead and collects you at the southern waterfront.
